Our Mission

High School Graduate

41

states across the US have students sponsored by Teens Rise to be college ready.

Founded in 2018 by passionate volunteers determined to foster academic and life success, the Teens Rise Foundation is dedicated to pursuing education equity and providing underserved youth with academic opportunities. We address inequalities in resources and in opportunities that impact college readiness by supporting youth nationally in three areas of their academic and professional journeys:

Teens Getting Ready for College
Academic Enrichment & College Preparedness

Teens Going to College
College Scholarships

Teens Succeeding in College and Beyond
Mentorship Program

We plan Senior Signing Day and Senior Award Night celebrations to celebrate our commitment to academic enrichment, college preparedness, scholarships, and mentorship.

The Need

74%

of high school graduates are considered unprepared for college-level courses.

Increasing college readiness is a leading education priority in the United States. About a third of American students require remedial education when they enter college, with math as one of the largest barriers for students seeking to enroll in a four-year college. More students than ever start in a remedial math course, which indicates a lack of readiness upon starting college and a greater risk of dropping out.

Low-income Latinx and African American students are less than half as likely to make it from 9th grade to a college degree as their Asian American and white peers. With current college attainment rates not keeping pace with our country’s projected workforce needs, America now ranks 13th in college completion rates for young adults and is no longer the global leader.

Teens Rise Foundation works to fill these academic, financial, and social gaps.
